Road Trip to Kanchanaburi in 2000 Print E-mail
Written by Panrit "Gor" Daoruang

In April 2000 I went on a road trip to Kanchanaburi. I was 14 years old. We stayed at the Jolly Frog Guesthouse by the river. We went to the Erawan Waterfalls (see below), Bridge on the River Keai, Jeath museum and also Bamboo Rafting and Elephant Riding .

Jolly Frog, the guesthouse where we stayed when we went to Kanchanaburi. It's about 10 minutes from the bridge (by car). Inside there is a lawn for you to sit and read your books or rest. It costs about 150 baht with 2 beds, fan and private bathroom. That's about $4 per night for 2 people or $2 each.

I am working on my web site inside our room. In the room we also have a bathroom, we don't have to go out and share it with other people. You also can pay for a cheaper room that doesn't have a bathroom inside. In front of our room, there is a place for me to read my cartoon books and rest.

Erawan Waterfalls

View from the top of Erawan Waterfall. There are 7 waterfalls here. Not many people came up this high because it's very high. I think we took about 40 minutes to walk to the top.
Lots of people are on the first waterfall, not many go to the top. We saw lots of good views when we went up there and those two girls are playing in the waterfall by sitting on the rocks. The water there was very cold. Cold enough to make me ill! But it was very beautiful.
