ESSAYS ON THAILAND

This is an interesting book about Thailand which was compiled and written by Thanapol Chadchaidee. There are about 60 essays written in English and Thai. This book is so useful that we have several copies at my old school. We sometimes use it to answer the questions that people send us. Khun Thanapol gave me permission to put some of the essays here on my web site.

A Westerner's view of Buddhism - have been practicing the Dharma (Buddhist way) for about two years now. After several years of travelling I developed a sense of spirituality which was further fuelled by books by the Dalai Lama and Jack Kerouac among others.

Impressions of an English Teacher - at the age of 32 I decided to set aside my career as a journalist and web editor and come to teach English in Thailand. As you can imagine, stepping into a foreign culture, having never taught before, and without speaking their language was a daunting prospect.

ERIC SHACKLE

"Life begins at 80 ... on the Internet," proclaims Eric Shackle. And ever since his hi-tech epiphany, he has been celebrating his new-found obsession with this eclectic collection of writing. He has written the following articles about Thailand:

Thailand Has World's Longest Place Name - Thailand has beaten challenges from New Zealand and Wales for the world's longest place name. Internet websites in all three countries claim that odd tourist magnet. Eric Shackle examine their claims.

Thai Teenager's Great Websites - Thousands of teenagers around the world have their own websites, but Nattawud Daoruang's may well be the world's best for that age group.
