In the last column, I talked about becoming a novice monk and staying in the temple. I was going to do that but something went wrong and that changed my plans. That problem has brought me a new life even though I didn’t become a novice monk. Now, I am staying at my grandparent’s house and I am planning to stay there as long as nothing happens to my girlfriend and me.

I went to a forest temple in Chachoengsao and was about to become a novice monk. But, I found out, after I had my hair and eyebrows shaved off, that my girlfriend was pregnant! So I was feeling worried about her and wanted to look after her so I asked the head monk about letting her stay in the temple as well. The head monk said it was OK. I knew that I couldn’t touch her or be alone with her because I was a novice monk. But, at least I could look after her and be there with her.

After I had spoken to the head monk, I went to talk to my mum. I thought it would be OK and that she wouldn’t mind but I was wrong. She said "NO" straight away so we had a big argument and I changed the plan about becoming a novice monk. Really, I wanted my girlfriend to be there with me too because the temple was in the forest and it is really in the middle of nowhere. I was scared to be there alone.

I came back to Samut Prakan province but I didn’t go back home because of the argument with my mum. My paternal grandmother invited my girlfriend and me to come to stay with her in her house. Now, we are staying in a room next to my grandmother’s house. We have our own bathroom and private entrance. There, I have started a new life in my new home with my girlfriend.

At first when we were there, I felt very tired because I had to do all the housework by myself. My girlfriend only did a little work because I told her that she must look after her big stomach. We also bought a baby rabbit to look after and we are practicing to be good parents by taking good care of the rabbit. He is big and fat and has good health at the moment.

Every time my parents came to visit my grandparents, I felt embarrassed to meet my mum. But, at last everything was fine and we started talking to each other again. She has forgiven me so many times. I am very lucky to have her as my mum.

Now, let’s talk about my girlfriend and her parents. My grandmother called Tai’s mum to tell her that she was staying with me and told her about Tai being pregnant. A few days later she came to visit us. When my girlfriend saw her mum, she ran straight to her and gave her a big hug. She seemed very happy that her mum came to visit. Now she doesn’t have to wake me up in the middle of the night crying and saying that she missed her mum anymore. There was one night that she was about to walk back home. I thought she was just kidding and so I went back to sleep but after I heard the door creak open I had to get up and bring her back. Now she is happier.

Now I have to get ready for my new baby. I have already bought some books on bringing up babies and I am now going to buy my girlfriend some classical music for her to listen to. I heard somewhere that if you listen to classical music when you are pregnant, that will make your baby clever. I don’t know if it’s true or not but I am going to do that. At least my baby will be in a good mood after she listens to the music.
