Interview 5 Internet Site of the Week, Bangkok Post, Database (7th June 2000) Here's the fruit of the labour of one 14-year-old Thai student from Paknam who has been called "Thailand's youngest ambassador". The web site is called Thailand Life http://www.ThailandLife.com and you'll be impressed by its depth of information. Webmaster Nattawud Daoruang has already received a lot of media attention abroad and the site has had over 120,000 visitors. A teacher at Nattawud's school writes that Thailand Life is all about life here as a teenager: "The site contains over 800 pictures, 90% of which Nattawud took himself. He works on it every day and often uploads new pages and sections. The Life as a Buddhist section is particularly popular. "Nattawud was a novice monk when his grandfather died and he wrote about this experience and illustrated it with pictures. He also has pages on what happens when Buddhists visit temples on their birthdays and during festivals. He is working on more at the moment to show his parent's wedding and his own top knot cutting ceremony when he was younger. "Other sections of his web site show life at home and school and basic information about Thailand for students who are doing a project or for tourists interested in visiting Thailand." The site also offers free email, while Nattawud has four other web sites, Internet shops and he is the official photographer for www.Paknam.com and www.ThaiScouting.com.-Tony Waltham |
