Thai youths crave attention, understanding and sincerity this Valentine's Day, a Suan Dusit poll found.

Of the respondents, over 28% said they wanted understanding from parents while 27% wanted care and attention.

Over 37% wanted their friends to be more sincere while 20% wanted them to be understanding.

Almost 34% wanted their lovers to be sincere, 25% wanted them to be more understanding and 18% wanted them to be more caring.

The poll found 26% wanted their teachers to pay more attention to them while 18% wanted them to be more understanding.

To mark Valentine's Day today, the poll was conducted between Feb 1-13 on young people aged between 12-21.

Over 44% said they wanted honesty from politicians while 33% said they wanted the government to work hard in the best interest of the people.

As far as dream dates went, 37% wanted to dine with Kathaleeya McIntosh, 35% went for Willy McIntosh, 24% chose Jassadaporn Poldee, 20% opted for Nicole Teriault and 22% picked Lalita Panyopas.

Just under 39% of the 4,372 respondents said they would like to dine with Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra while 48% chose Chart Thai MP Janista Liwchalermwong.

Almost 27% opted for Chuan Leekpai, 25% picked Chart Pattana's Pavena Hongsakul, 19% went for Thai Rak Thai's Sudarat Keyuraphan and 18% chose Democrat Abhisit Vejjajiva.
