Also understanding, care from teachers

Children want their parents to stop fighting and love each other more, according to the results of a survey marking today's Children's Day.

Asked what they wanted most from parents on Children's Day, 46.5% of the young respondents wanted them to love each other more.

Love, care and understanding from parents was cited by 26.5% of respondents, while 10.8% said they wanted the family to spend more time together.

Eight percent of respondents wanted their parents to quit smoking, drinking and gambling.

The survey of 3,849 children aged between five and 15 across the country was carried out by Suan Dusit poll between Jan 5 and yesterday.

Asked what they wanted most from teachers on Children's Day, 31.5% of respondents said understanding and care, with 26% saying they want teachers to be fair to all students.

Teachers should stop being grumpy said 25.5% of respondents, while 10% said they wanted teachers to pay more attention to what children said.

Asked what they wanted most from politicians, 42.4% of respondents said they wanted them to stop fighting and show unity.

Stopping corruption was cited by 29.3% of respondents, with 16% wanting politicians to set good examples for children.
